Our Italia collection is deemed by so many as their favorite. It is a full-grain water buffalo or cowhide (see colors) finished in Italy which has the most natural look and supple feel. The waxy distressed finish makes it very rugged and durable creating the most beautiful patina that is enhanced with age.
Rebind Your Bible In Our Italia Collection (Leather Liner Included):
All of these cowhide leathers have a very beautiful, rich finish and a soft feel and come in many unique colors. All are either top or full-grain leathers (we don’t use any split leather). Cowhide has a varying grain. It is very soft, durable, and our least expensive leather option, making it our most popular.
What is the difference between a standard cover and a leather liner?
We offer cowhide leather bible rebinds with two options: a standard cover with paper endsheets or a leather liner cover. This short video shows the difference between our standard Bible covers compared to our leather liner covers. Both of these covers are cowhide. The leather liner cover has a kidskin liner.
With a leather liner, we replace the standard endsheet with leather on the inside of the cover. This makes for the most supple, flexible, and full leather feel cover. If you are one that likes to roll their cover, this is what you want! The standard yapp for a leather liner is 3/8″.
T.R. from Chiloquin, OR writes, “Yesterday I received my recently repaired Bible with a new black cowhide leather. I opted for the leather liner, and am I ever glad I did. The new cover on my Bible is absolutely fabulous. The finish and stamping are beautiful, and I can’t get over how soft and supple the cover is (thanks to the leather liner). The craftsmanship on my Bible repair is superb, and I can’t recommend the quality of work highly enough!”
Our cow calfskin leather is beautifully smooth. It has a medium temper and is very durable. It perfectly suits medium to larger bibles and adds great body to leather liners for larger bibles to give great flexibility without being too floppy.
Rebind Your Bible In Calfskin (Leather Liner Included):
Our lambskin is the softest leather we carry. It is buttery soft to the touch, especially with a leather liner. It has a very tight grain giving a smooth appearance. It is recommended for bibles with light to medium use as it is a little less wear resistant compared to our other leathers, especially in lighter colors.

Recent Review:Andrew took my 30 year old Oxford RSV and restored it with a tobacco lambskin cover. I was so pleased I posted pictures on Bible Design Blog. Owning several “premiums” (Allan, Cambridge etc.) I wanted an elegant and complete finished product. AA Leather delivered! March 2013 (P.S. from Redford, MI)
